Led by industry pioneers and backed by world -class investors, we are assembling a team of best-in-class aerospace, software, materials engineers, and scientists to make this vision a reality.As an Aerospace Technologist you will be working with a team of satellite designer, engineers, and scientists. You will be responsible for supporting the team with all fixturing, tooling, assembly and test set ups. In addition, you will be responsible for assembly, integration and testing of components and harnesses for use in space and on the ground. You will be responsible for electro-mechanical satellite assembly and will be involved in both internal and external day-to-day product performance and validation testing. You will wear many hats and learn a variety of skills and processes working in this dynamic, exciting startup environment.
Some of the many detailed tasks for this role include:· Designing and manufacturing of space flight rated components.· Mount and debug satellite sub-assemblies· Designing and building jigs and fixtures for testing and manufacturing assembly· Designing and documenting 3-D models and 2-D drawings for satellite components and sub-assemblies· Fabricating and building electro-mechanical prototypes.· Documenting assembly and process work instructions for manufacturing· Performing prototype and product testing, writing test plans / test reports· Working with outside suppliers to purchase prototypes, mfg. components and test services.· Designing, documenting, and building cable assemblies· Assembling / soldering electrical components on PCBs· Set-up, run and maintain prototyping and manufacturing process equipment.· Set up of satellite sub-assembly area: organize components/fixtures, implement ESD-safe equipment as needed.
Requirements· You must have 2+ years of experience working on spacecraft electro-mechanical devices.· You must have a minimum 2-year college degree in a relevant discipline.· Experience working with electronics: soldering, cable design and build, ESD practices.Bonus points· Experience working in a startup environment.
This role will be based in our Los Gatos, CA location and the successful candidate will be required to be in-person in that location the majority of the time.
