Position Title: Accounting Manager – Real Estate Private Equity Fund

Location: Dallas, TX; San Francisco, CA

Your role 

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting functions for the real estate private equity fund. This role ensures compliance with GAAP and investor reporting standards while maintaining transparency and accuracy in fund operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private equity real estate accounting, fund administration, and financial analysis.

What you’ll do 

• Assist the external fund administrator with maintaining and overseeing general ledger activities, fund accounting, investor allocations, and capital calls/distributions.
• Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for the real estate private equity fund, ensuring compliance with GAAP and investor reporting standards.
• Manage the month-end and quarter-end close processes for portfolio companies, including bank reconciliation, accounting for loan, account analysis and reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for investors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure timely completion of audits, K-1 reporting, and tax filings.
• Monitor fund performance, asset valuations, and portfolio cash flow to support strategic investment decisions.
• Collaborate with acquisitions and asset management teams to track investment performance, capital expenditures, and financing structures.
• Ensure compliance with fund operating agreements, investor reporting requirements, and regulatory filings.
• Enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting processes to improve operational efficiency.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in fund accounting, with a focus on real estate private equity funds and fund administration.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, capital structures, and real estate accounting.
• Experience with financial reporting and investment structures.
• Demonstrated aptitude for ERP systems, experience with Yardi is preferable.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to interact effectively with investors, auditors, and internal teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
