Purpose

This position will be a member of a team that provides administrative support to the Human Resources staff. The primary responsibilities will be to provide clerical, receptionist and project-based work for the Employee Assistance Program.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary receptionist for a Human Resources lobby in a confidential counseling office receiving department visitors by providing exceptional customer service while exercising tact, diplomacy and discretion and maintaining a presence in the lobby. This confidential office environment will require managing multiple tasks including managing schedules for multiple counselors with competing priorities, triaging stressful situations, and directing clients to appropriate resources while using initiative and judgement.
  • Oversees unit educational presentations including maintaining associated educational materials, calendaring rooms, room preparation, communication with attendees, and updating the employee training management system information.
  • Supports the HR Administrative Manager with multiple administrative tasks for assigned HR units. While exercising initiative and judgment, routine administrative duties will include composing, proofing, and editing correspondence, as well as processing documents involving sensitive timelines, data entry to confidential databases, calendaring, and conference room oversight. Actively participate in staff meetings.
  • Supports HR operations through management, tracking and compliance of the University record retention and financial policies related to documents within Human Resources. Updates EAP website information, as well as creating content for weekly blog posts. Communicates and collaborates on ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as assigned.
  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Ass
