We offer a portfolio of over six products, including established offerings like Magnum with over 60 active clients worldwide, and innovative products such as UW Ease. We are a SW house within Swiss Re.</span></p> <p><span>Our team consists of more than 150 technical professionals with multidisciplinary skills, located in multiple countries, working on these multi-regional, highly available solutions.</span></p> <p><span><strong>About the Role</strong></span></p> <p><span>As a <strong>Senior Technical Architect</strong>, you will be responsible for defining and evolving the technical architecture of Swiss Re’s Life &amp; Health digital products. You will play a critical role in shaping end-to-end solution design, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability across distributed systems and cloud infrastructures.</span><br/><br/><span>This role requires deep technical expertise, hands-on design capability, and the ability to influence engineering teams through thought leadership, coaching, and architectural governance. You will collaborate with product managers, delivery leads, and senior stakeholders to align technology strategy with business outcomes.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Your responsibilities will be: </strong> </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Define and evolve <strong>application architecture</strong> aligned with enterprise standards like scalability, maintainability and cost effectiveness.</span></li> <li><span>Design mission critical solutions using <strong>12-factor App development principles</strong> with <strong>Spring and Spring Boot</strong></span></li> <li><span>Design and develop <strong>secure authentication</strong> (e.g., Okta, Azure AD) and <strong>robust authorization</strong> mechanisms</span></li> <li><span>Design and document scalable cloud-native infrastructure on <strong>Microsoft Azure</strong></span></li> <li><span>Establish and <strong>enforce coding standards, </strong>design patterns, secure coding practices and architecture best practices</span></li> <li><span>Evaluate and integrate third-party solutions, open-source tools, and<strong> cloud-managed services</strong></span></li> <li><span><strong>Translate complex business requirements</strong> into scalable and maintainable solution designs</span></li> <li><span><strong>Lead and mentor</strong> engineering teams on architecture, design, coding, and deployment</span></li> <li><span>Perform <strong>architecture and code reviews</strong> to ensure adherence to quality and security standards</span></li> <li><span>Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline <strong>CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes</strong></span></li> <li><span>Oversee <strong>vulnerability assessments</strong>, open-source <strong>license usage</strong>, and <strong>secure coding</strong> practices</span></li> <li><span>Ensure compliance with <strong>governance, data privacy, and industry regulations</strong></span></li> <li><span>Assist in the <strong>design and documentation</strong> of application architectures under senior guidance.</span></li> <li><span>Participate in <strong>architecture workshops</strong>, reviews, and design sessions with engineering teams.</span></li> <li><span>Support the <strong>translation of business requirements</strong> into high-level technical designs.</span></li> <li><span>Contribute to <strong>proof-of-concept</strong> (PoC) projects and pilot implementations.</span></li> <li><span>Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams <strong>to ensure architectural compliance.</strong></span></li> <li><span>Assist in creating <strong>diagrams and documentation</strong> for system design and workflows.</span></li> <li><span>Stay up to date with <strong>emerging technologies</strong> and contribute fresh ideas for improvement.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span><strong>About You</strong></span></p> <p><span>We understand that no one meets 100% of the requirements — if you are passionate about building reliable, resilient systems and meet most of the below, we’d love to hear from you.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span><strong>12+ years of experience</strong> in Java/J2EE based enterprise software development</span></li> <li><span><strong>5+ years in application/solution architecture</strong> roles with strong hands-on involvement</span></li> <li><span>Expert-level proficiency in <strong>Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security</strong></span></li> <li><span>Extensive experience designing and building <strong>scalable architectures and solutions</strong></span></li> <li><span>Experience with <strong>authentication and authorization</strong> using <strong>Okta</strong>, <strong>Azure Active Directory</strong>,
