Job Description
The Manager, Communications will support the communication and media relations needs for Morning Joe.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead support under Vice President, MSNBC Communications, by managing press and publicity for Morning Joe and Way Too Early
- Pitch daily show content, write press releases, distribute videos, photos and general press materials
- Help create detailed press plans for Way Too Early, Morning Joe, Know Your Value and Morning Joe specials and events
- Provide strategic media relations for talent
- Maintain and grow detailed communication plans, media list and schedules
- Provide PR support during breaking news situations and specials
- Manager external media relationships and partnerships
- Develop relationships with key media contacts and across NBCU News Group
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
Note: This position will require early morning, late night and weekend work.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years relevant media relations and communications experience, news and political experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or equivalent
- Excellent news judgement and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in media/political talent relations
- Willingness to travel and work on weekends
- Ability to work across and balance multiple teams, deadlines, and projects

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
