SUMMARY

The Workday Technical Administrator is responsible for supporting the maintenance, performance auditing, and administration of the City’s Workday platform. This role focuses on technical operations, system performance, and collaborative support for system updates and integrations. The position works as part of the Innovation & Technology Workday Support Team and collaborates closely with the Enterprise Integrations and Data & Analytics teams, contributing to the stability and efficiency of Workday and other third-party human resource, finance, and procurement applications.

Application Support:
•    Provide technical support for Workday and Third-Party application configurations, integrations, and operational performance.
•    Assist in the execution of Workday updates, enhancements, and bi-annual release cycles in a support capacity.
•    Monitor and audit system performance to ensure optimal operation and adherence to established benchmarks.
•    Support the administration of system configurations and ensure compliance with technical best practices.
•    Administer DocuSign application and its integration with Workday.
•    Provide technical support for all third-party systems: Teller, Mortgage Office, PropWorks, OnBase, FileSolv, Training Orchestra, Granicus, B2Gnow, etc.
•    Responsible for attending all Technology Change Control Meetings and distribution of regular scheduled and ad-hoc communications around change requests, system maintenance, or other system-related notifications and activities. 
•    Serve as technical support for the team in all aspects of approvals, security requests, etc.
 

Legacy ERP Support:
•    Collaborate with teams to provide operational support for legacy ERP systems during the transition to Workday.
•    Assist in aligning legacy systems with Workday processes to maintain data continuity and functionality.
 

System Integration and Development:
•    Provide technical support for the development and maintenance of integrations between Workday and external systems.
•    Collaborate with integration specialists and the Data & Analytics team to ensure seamless data flow and accurate reporting.
•    Conduct system diagramming and mapping to document system relationships, integration points, and dependencies.
 

Ticket Monitoring and Reporting:
•    Monitor team ticketing activity using the Cherwell ticketing solution.
•    Analyze ticket resolution times and identify trends to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
•    Generate and distribute reports on ticketing metrics, including volume, types of issues, and resolution trends.
•    Work collaboratively with the Workday Support Team to address recurring issues and implement process improvements based on ticketing data.
 

Collaboration and Documentation:
•    Work collaboratively within the Workday Support Team and across departments to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
•    Document technical processes, workflows, and system changes to maintain an accurate repository of system knowledge.
•    Participate in team meetings to contribute to project planning and share system performance insights.
 

Auditing and Compliance:
•    Perform regular system performance audits and generate reports to identify and address areas for improvement.
•    Ensure adherence to data privacy, security, and compliance standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct management responsibilities but works collaboratively within the Technical Workday Support Team and other departments. This position will oversee work quality, training, instructing, work assignments and provide guidance to colleagues.

Education & Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
•    Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in applications/systems administration, including specific experience with Workday.
•    Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
