About the Role:
Demandbase is looking for an experienced Benefits professional to join our People & Places team! In this role, you will report to the VP of Total Rewards and will be the main Benefits contact for US and UK employees. Ideally, you will have worked through a transition from a fully-insured US medical plan to a self-funded plan, but if you don't have that specific experience, we will want you to have managed a self-funded medical insurance plan (regardless of participating in the transition).
We are a super fun and close-knit group of HR and Talent Acquisition professionals. Our team members are located all across the country but are mainly concentrated on the West Coast. Our headquarters is in San Francisco, but we have employees in THe US, UK, and India. This is a remote role, but you may be asked to travel to the San Francisco office for special meetings or events (generally not more than 2 times/year).
The base compensation for this role is $138,500 - $179,300.
What you'll be doing:
- Plans and directs the overall design, implementation, communication, compliance, and administration of the US and UK health and welfare benefits programs. The main programs include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
- Evaluates current benefits programs to ensure compliance and competitiveness with other organizations
- Responsible for facilitating the pre-employment process and entering new hire and employee status changes while establishing best practices to ensure data integrity
- Provide explanations, interpretations and/or guidance to employees regarding the administrative activities related to the benefit programs, policies, and procedures and escalate as needed.
- Create and maintain employee personnel, medical, and benefit e-files; maintain I-9 files in accordance with company policies and employment law regulations.
- As custodian of employee personnel records, you may be asked to assist in facilitating annual regulatory audits.
- Partner with your function's HR Business Partner on larger projects and org changes
- Manage and oversee the entire workflow of the US leave of absence and maternity/paternity programs. This includes serving as the initial employee contact.
- Support administration of employee offboarding
- Identify and recommend improvements to HR programs and processes to drive efficiencies and enhance the employee experience.
- Handle multiple priorities and navigate in an often rapidly-changing environment.
What we're looking for:
- 5-7 years experience working in employee benefits and 401(k) plans and interacting, regularly, with employees
- Ideally, you will have participated in the transition from being a fully-insured company to a self-funded or self-insured company. If you don't have the specific experience, we would want you to have managed a benefits plan at a self-insured company.
- You should have at least 1 year of experience managing at least 1 other employee.
- Experience with being the face of HR, representing policies and practices to managers and employees across the organization
- Experience with ADP HRIS is a plus
- Experience in process improvement and process documentation
- Ability to comprehend and explain complex materials and processes
- Desire and ability to work in the weeds with details
