The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:
The RTX Federal Affairs, Lobbyist will advocate for civil (spectrum, NOAA, etc.), commercial aviation and space issues for three RTX businesses, but primarily Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney. This lobbyist will foster relationships with the Executive and Legislative Branches, specifically around non-defense issues.
What You Will Do
- Identify and support policymaking opportunities and funding opportunities that advance the objectives and successful execution of RTX’s non-defense programs of all three business units. Work with the Senior Director for non-defense programs to develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy with respect to civil, commercial aviation, and space programs to successfully achieve RTX legislative priorities particularly related to additional funding and additional authorization of funding from various congressional oversight committees.
- Advise the SBU Presidents of the three RTX business units and other senior business leaders on all federal legislative matters that may affect the successful execution, funding, and authorization of their programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key U.S. government customers/officials to identify opportunities of aligned interest, shape requirements & influence laws and regulations in support of all RTX related products and services.
- Collaborate with the non-defense Team Senior Director and the Defense team lobbyists to enhance RTX’s presence in Washington, DC with respect to all defense and non-defense RTX programs to create a national platform on which RTX programs positions, needs, and priorities can be articulated.
- Lead the coordination and integration of RTX commercial aviation and space programs activities with all other lobbying activities across Global Government Relations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business functions and work proactively to keep them well-informed about political, legislative, and regulatory developments impacting the RTX civil, commercial, and space portfolios.
- Coordination the Manager of RTXPAC to develop a strategy for the attendance at political events in support of the company’s political action committee.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and 10 years of relevant experience, specifically working with Members of Congress and their staff, and committees.
- Prior knowledge in legislative processes to include the annual appropriations bills and transportation and science related authorization bills.
- Prior knowledge with understanding civil, commercial aviation and space concepts, programs and terminology. Knowledge of AI and energy issues a plus.
- Prior experience working on Capitol Hill, preferably on transportation and science related programs.
