About the role

The Basics:

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide FP&A support for the Marketing team. You will be responsible for financial planning, reporting and analyses for our Marketing organization.  You will play a key role as we build out a finance team to deliver timely, accurate financial forecasts, provide value-add business partnering with Tanium leaders and deliver insightful, actionable financial modeling, reporting & analyses.  This role will have the opportunity to influence decision making on staffing models and investment ROI and prioritization. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling/analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced/high-growth environment. 

 This position reports to the Director of FP&A, Customer Experience. 

 What you'll do: 

  • You will be a key partner to the Marketing leads, managing their headcount and other resource planning, and adjusting plans as necessary to align to changing business needs. 
  • Develop an understanding of Tanium’s go-to-market motion, pipeline generation activities and translate this into operational and financial information to monitor the health of the business and understand where resources are being deployed. 
  • Build/improve management reporting and analyses that provides relevant, insightful, actionable information to support data-driven decision-making.  
  • Work closely with the Field Marketing, Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Communications/PR, and Marketing Ops team’s leadership to drive short term and long-range financial and workforce plans. 
  • Deliver timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end planning and reporting deliverables. 
  • Prepare high-quality business analyses, insights, and modeling on ad hoc projects for the Director of FP&A, VP of Finance, CFO, and CMO.
  • Partner with workforce planning to track key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate the health of the business. 
  • Drive continuous improvement within financial processes, tools, and models, including ongoing enhancements to continuously improve forecast accuracy and provide line of sight to risks & opportunities.  
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts to continuously improve data quality and establish rigor in measuring the business.
  • Comfortable working in high growth environments and having to operate in ambiguity.  

Who we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or excelled academically in their respective major. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in a business partnering role at a high-growth technology company. 
  • Advanced in Excel and experience building sophisticated and driver based financial models.
  • Advanced in PowerPoint and experience with data visualization tools.
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning or similar finance forecasting systems.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude 
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial concepts. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to quickly craft precise and elegant responses.
  • Ability to communicate with executive and c-suite audience.
