Microsoft’s Health & Life Sciences Solutions engineering team is leading the delivery of first party solutions and applications to health & life sciences clients powered by Microsoft Azure and AI to transform how we work and bring Microsoft’s mission of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more to life.  We are currently hiring a Senior Front-end Software Engineer to join the team to work on healthcare orientated Copilots.

Responsibilities

You will collaborate across multiple teams within the Microsoft Health and Life Sciences organization to build a new, cutting-edge AI solution to empower the healthcare community. The core responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: 

  • Critical Design Initiatives: Lead and contribute to critical design initiatives, taking accountability for the end-to-end product delivery that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Next Gen User Experience: Collaborate with multiple innovative teams to build next-generation healthcare user experiences.
  • Software Design and Ownership: Design, own, and ship high-quality software solutions, emphasizing secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to synchronize on product features that span across teams and geographies. Identify dependencies and drive them to completion.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Drive the growth and development of peers and colleagues to develop foundations in engineering best practices.
  • Leverage full-stack experience, including web frontend development with React and Fluent UI and building scalable cloud services.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience designing and implementing high-performance responsive web-based applications and user experiences.

Other Requirements:

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:  

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred/Additional Qualifications: 

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, contributing to a positive and dynamic workplace culture. 
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and incorporate solutions from both internal and open-source communities. 
  • Independent, capable of making decisions in an ambiguous environment and unblock yourself   
  • Experience in server-side development, object orientated programming, and understanding of an integrated, full-stack development environment 
  • Technical leadership experience in high performing agile teams    

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
