About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Business Technology Team.  Working within a distributed agile team. You will participate in the entire quality assurance process, which includes standards implementation, requirements review, test plan creation, generating test cases and scripts, executing tests, managing issues, and reporting results. Prior experience developing and implementing automated regression testing suites is required.

The ideal candidate is someone who has a development background with solid knowledge of software quality engineering processes, is self-motivated and organized, and has a strong attention to detail.

Knowledge of the insurance or insurance services industry is desirable, but not required.  We are looking for an eager team member who brings a desire to impress with their skills and aptitude as an individual contributor and as an active team member.

About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role

• Analyze requirements, developing, implementing, and maintaining test plans, test scenarios and test cases and prioritizing test execution to validate the functionality being built.
• Perform manual and automated tests for our website and applications.
• Recommend test automation approach, tools, and frameworks.
• Develop test infrastructure and custom automation tools as needed to expand test coverage and enable non-functional testing.
• Find and report defects with detailed, accurate and concise steps to reproduce.
• Assist developers in discovering and researching defects and recommend system enhancements.
• Works very closely with other QA Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and other personnel and provide accurate and actionable insight.
• Support and execution of the application testing phase (functional & non-functional) to ensure all software meets requirements before changes are placed in production.
• Liaison/co-ordination with other technology groups (across sites) to coordinate/execute end-end testing.
• Regularly delivers automation and completes manual testing on-time and is constantly working to make accurate estimates and deliver on those estimates.

Qualifications

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in similar roles.
• Hands-on experience with manual and automated testing methodologies and general quality concepts.
• Experience evaluating software architectures and designs to identify potential quality, performance, and scalability weaknesses or limitations and developing an automated test regimen to fully exercise these suspect areas.
• Experience in automating complex systems integration (End-To-End).
• Software development skills utilizing scripting languages, SQL, and high-level languages such as in C# & Java.
• Experience with querying Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2 databases.
• Experience with scripting software automation testing products, including Selenium.
• Experience with Automation Framework development using Selenium.
• Experience testing REST API’s.
• Experience creating and analyzing performance tests with tools such as JMeter.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum and a proven ability to be effective in a cross-functional team-oriented environment, establishing solid work relationships with co-workers.
• The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to developers, business analysts, system users, and other employees.
