Seeking a Product Owner position to encompass opportunities to develop and deliver solutions in pursuit of best-in-class practices and to continuously drive and influence positive change throughout the organization, globally. 

As a Product Owner within our Legal Matter & Spend team, you will lead the development efforts and deliver solutions in pursuit of best-in-class practices, ensuring that the needs of our clients are met and aligns with our company’s strategic goals globally.  You will spend every day supporting the firm’s legal group by defining, refining, and delivering fixes, enhancements, and improvements to legal’s matter & spend applications.  Your day will compose of partnering with the teams across Technology and the Line of Businesses to implement medium sized projects to support Matter and Spend Management. You will be expected to run multiple projects, be able to deal with and work through ambiguity, be flexible enough to shift workload in accordance with changing priorities, and be comfortable dealing with and leading in a fast-paced, priority-driven environment.  If you are intellectually curious and have a passion for driving solutions across organizational boundaries, you may be the perfect fit for our team.

Job responsibilities

  • Write new user stories, specifying acceptance criteria, groom and prioritize product backlog, release planning
  • Partner with colleagues in all regions to support “follow the sun” operations
  • Facilitate continuous improvement by harvesting lessons learned, identifying reuse opportunities, conducting end to end process analysis, document flows, identify pain points and data mapping as necessary
  • Measure, track and benchmark progress/performance against established standards on an ongoing basis and deliver timely, fact-based updates on key initiatives, risks and issues
  • Participate in Agile meetings and sprint planning
  • Interacting with multiple groups including stakeholders, other downstream application teams (Vendor, Legal Billing Support, Reporting) and the Data Quality Team, to provide support in troubleshooting and resolving issues , as well as collaborate regularly with development team and UI/UX team members
  • Conduct periodic training sessions for users to enhance their understanding and usage of the product and to keep users updated on new functionality
  • Provide production support such as responsibilities researching invoice processing issues from Law Firms that JPMC Legal engages. These issues require proper research and due diligence and are time consuming. 
  • Testing responsibilities include coordinating UAT testing with end users and reviewing acceptance criteria with feature team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience with software development cycles (especially with Agile framework)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box, collect data, research, interact with diverse stakeholders and identify issues and solutions
  • Highly organized, good decision making skills, detail-oriented and able to drive work streams / projects
  • Ability to work independently when necessary and take initiative in completing tasks and leading projects, while keeping the entire team engaged and informed
  • Enthusiastic in driving organizational change, collaborative, a team player
  • Experience in Microsoft especially Microsoft Project and PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of customer requirements and key contacts.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 1-2 years ELM Passport (Matter and Spend Product) application experience
  • 1-2 years Invoice processing/billing experience
