Product Designer for a 125+ employee (and growing) remote education non-profit providing professional learning to K-12 educators nationally
Type of Vacancy: Salaried, full-timeStart date: August-September 2025Location: RemoteReport to: Senior Director, Teaching Lab Innovation StudioSupervises: Dependent on project, Product Designer may be a Project Leader with project team supervision and leadership development responsibilitiesCompensation: The full salary range for this position is $106,000 - $160,335 annually. This range represents the full earning potential for the role, including opportunities for salary growth over time based on performance, tenure, and organizational budget. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $106,000 - $139,825. Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint of the full salary range ($139,825) to allow for continued growth in the role over time. There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships, part-time work, and consulting work. In collaboration with the hiring manager, the People and Culture team calculates experience based on the candidate’s most current resume. When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates who possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications).

In this role, you will work with the Innovation Studio, a unit of Teaching Lab created to incubate high-impact ideas made possible by the dramatic progress in generative AI. This role will play a critical part in designing intuitive, accessible, and engaging user experiences for products in the TL Studio.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary responsibilities for the Product Designer include:
- Design intuitive, engaging, and accessible user interfaces for the Studio products
- Conduct UX research to understand user needs and gather feedback, including usability testing, surveys, and stakeholder interviews
- Serve as an advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle
- Iterate on designs based on user research findings, stakeholder feedback, and product team priorities
- Maintain and update design systems to optimize design processes and ensure consistency
- Work closely with cross-functional team members to align design solutions with product goals
- Contribute to design discussions and brainstorming sessions to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Teaching Lab Innovation Studio and/or Executive Team.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS (KSI)
- The Product Designer is accountable for achieving goals set in collaboration with their manager, aligned with annual goals, and especially, Key Success Indicators (KSI). ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, or a related field or the completion of a UX/UI design program, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in Product Design (UX/UI)
- Proven experience designing digital products, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Proficiency with design tools, specifically Figma
- Experience conducting and incorporatin
