How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Air Liquide E&C Solutions Turbo division’s Manager of Projects and Planning’s primary
responsibility is to lead the team of project engineers, planners and production control to
ensure ALT executes as sold, measured by on-schedule and on-budget project delivery. The
Manager of Projects and Planning will report to the General Manager and is instrumental in
developing and mentoring the Project Delivery side of the organization as well as the other
departments that are all involved in successful project execution. Other general
responsibilities will be developing best practices, procedures, reporting and execution
improvements in ancillary departments (e.g. Aftermarket and Services) to improve
competitiveness in the whole organization.

Departmental Responsibilities: Project Execution

● Provides strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes and tools used for project delivery.

● Lead the team of project engineers and proactively manage the full portfolio of capital projects (25-30 projects/ year) during all phases of the project: Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing/Assembly, Testing and Final shipment.

● Develops the team members competencies in project management including advising on execution strategy, stakeholder management, scope control and in all other technical and commercial aspects. ● Meet/beat the schedule and cost targets on projects.

● Together with the General Manager, establishes measurable objectives for the organization and for the area of responsibility, and ensures that objectives are achieved.

● Manages all escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and implement solutions.

● Establishes controls and operating policies that identify, monitor and mitigate risks that could impact the success of the project.

● Manage intra and inter-department communications and issue to ensure on time and on -budget project delivery

● Maintain relationships with the customer base and actively communicate the status of the projects. ● Ensures proper change discipline, advising the team of project managers/engineers on change order management and control.

● Work with the project team to identify changes in scope and estimate the change order based on clear cost and schedule deviationsAssist and advise in change order negotiations with the customers and ensure the commercial interests of the business unit are protected.

● Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters. Planning and Control

● Define department strategy for planning and cost control in order to measure, control and report the performance of capital projects.

● Lead the planning team to manage raw material and finished goods inventory to ensure optimized levels based on current and future work load.

● Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to maximize efficiency of supply chain processes including warehouse stock levels, inventory, raw material levels and change management

● Work cross-functionally with Sales, Production and Procurement to ensure on time delivery and availability of adequate resources (materials, manpower etc)

● Lead production control and ensure accuracy of material standard costing, cost and man hour forecasting for active projects.

● Provides clear forecasts to the internal and external stakeholders on capital projects including execution risks, schedule, budgets and quality.

● Provide senior management with objective analysis on project statuses.
