SUMMARY
Position is responsible for performing CAD and solid modeling of components, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and related products. Create, revise, maintain CAD drawings, solid models, designs from verbal directions, hand drawn sketches and existing prints using SolidWorks and other design software. Maintain document and revision control and design drawings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Background in fundamental geometry and the ability to work mathematical concepts.
- General understanding of GD&T
- Thorough knowledge of Solidworks software platform
- Ability to understand concept and design to work with other engineers.
- Work from sketches, prints, and notes to create models.
- Create complete working drawings from CAD models.
- Develop solid model assemblies of multiple components checking for clearances, fit up and interferences.
- Maintain updated CAD software and procedures for using the CAD system.
- Maintain accurate drawing files, records, tool number lists, and tool list.
- Knowledge and implementation of proper Engineering Drawing layout and structure.
- Maintain accurate drawing files and records with revision control.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.

- Education and/or Experience: B/S degree in mechanical engineering, or at least two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical calculations including trigonometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Computer Skills: advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, etc.
