Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Insights and Analytics is a critical member of the BI&A Benelux team. The Senior Manager serves as a key partner to BMS’ leadership team by primarily conducting advanced analytics using a full range of analytics tool including decision science, field force analytics, business performance reporting and forecasting to answer key business questions and to support the growth and continuous evolution of the business in Benelux. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytics, forecasting, decision analysis, resource optimization as well as prior experience working in the pharmaceutical industry (areas of focus: Immuno-Oncology, Hematology, Immunology and Cardiovascular).

Key Responsibilities and Major Duties:

  • Design and implement analytics, performance management reporting and forecasting to support daily decision-making
  • Build strong and trust-based relationships and effectively influence all senior management stakeholders (Business Unit Directors, Marketing, Sales, Medical and Finance Leads)
  • Apply global standards, models and templates to drive high standards and consistency in Analytics
  • Provide timely, accurate and actionable business performance information
  • Lead commercial and strategic forecasting processes through accurate patient-based modelling
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of innovative BI&A approaches, therapeutic area learnings and best practices within the global BI&A structure
  • Collaborate with analytics and market research counterparts in developing and executing the full range of analytics tools including decision science, field force analytics, business performance reporting and forecasting to answer key business questions in Benelux
  • Support business’ needs and challenges with Sales Force Analytics to enable optimal segmentation, targeting and sales force sizing – including developing an annual process for deploying Key Driver Analyses to inform the resource allocation decisions
  • Synthesize heavy data sets from multiple sources to develop realistic, insightful and actionable recommendations; present results of strategic projects (i.e., Field Force Analytics & Resource Allocation, Key Driver Analysis, In-Line Forecasts) in a coherent and meaningful way
  • Liaise with Worldwide, other geographies and functional teams for efficient sharing and strategic adoption of learnings and capabilities
  • May lead offshore third-party team member(s)

Skills and Requirements:

  • Master degree in quantitative areas or equivalent experience is preferred (Economics, Life Science, Finance, Business Management)
  • At least 3 years’ of pharmaceutical/related market experience, including working knowledge of various analytical capabilities
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to set up forecast models and drive robust business cases
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare marketplace dynamics is a strong asset
  • Ability to leverage large, multi-dimensional data sets to drive business decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to frame issues and present to business stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate and engage with cross-functional teams
  • Thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in English and Dutch and/or French
