Senior Data & Applied Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Data & Applied Scientist to join Bing Places team in Microsoft AI.

Responsibilities

In this role you will: 

• Drive projects from design through implementation, experimentation and finally shipping to our users.  
• Work on multi-modal Large Language Models (LLMs) and utilizing and fine-tuning small language models to scale experiences globally and in multiple languages.  
• Own development of state-of-the-art machine learning, deep learning algorithms and techniques leveraging text, images, and video for analyzing and transforming content to build world-class search and information retrieval products that have the potential to transform millions of people’s lives. 
• Work in a diverse geographically distributed team environment where collaboration and innovation are valued. You will have an opportunity for direct impact on design, functionality, security, performance, scalability, manageability, and supportability of Microsoft products that use our technology.  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field AND senior-level related experience in industry 

OR master's degree in computer science, or related field AND senior-level related experience in industry 

OR Doctorate in in computer science, or related field AND senior-level related experience in industry

• Demonstrated data & applied science experience working with Computer Vision and Multimodal models
  
• Experience with fine-tuning state-of-the-art language models and multimodal models. Proficiency in integrating text, image, and other types of data from various modalities to build and deploy robust, scalable AI solutions
  
• Great design, problem solving, and data analysis skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance, and engineering excellence

• A Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D
