The objective of the DGS Division of Real Estate Services (DGS DRES) is to support state departments, agencies and institutions and their public missions by providing high quality real estate that is cost effective and functionally efficient, and to manage the Commonwealth's broad real estate portfolio, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, procedures, guidelines and best practices.
This position serves as the DGS DRES’ liaison with assigned client agencies, providing effective leadership and direction in developing and achieving strategic goals for acquisition, use and disposal of real property. The position helps ensure that client agencies receive timely real estate services and are provided the facilities they need at the most economical cost. The position provides expert advice and assists agencies in strategic planning, defining facility needs, selecting facilities that meet those needs, obtaining necessary services, conducting and negotiating transactions, and reviewing transactions and documents to make informed recommendations for approval by the Governor.

This position will be located in Richmond, Virginia and must report on-site. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule (telework up to 2 days*/week) upon completion of an approved telework agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of real estate principles, practices and laws.
• Solid analytical and organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Experience managing real estate transactions from start to finish.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience performing basic financial analyses.
• Experience with architectural, MEP drawings, and construction methods and materials.
• Strong negotiating skills and experience effectively present ideas and concepts to co-workers, agencies, managers and vendors.
• Experience acting decisively and accurately in advising and assisting client agencies.
• Skill in use of PC's and of MS Office products.
• Experience utilizing real estate management software to maintain record; assess needs and analyze and report trends in conjunction with use.
Additional Considerations
• Understanding of architectural, MEP drawings, and construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of laws, policies and guidelines governing conduct of real estate transactions by departments, agencies, and institutions of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
