About the role

Global Employee Communities, Director

Key Role:

Serve as a leader in Booz Allen Hamilton’s People Services Account Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Center of Expertise, lead a team of DEI experts in supporting the companywide Employee Communities portfolio. Examine and inform ERG leaders of industry positions on population and major movements, and support company efforts in responding to crises that affect this population. Manage budget, resources, and coordination of initiatives that support the company’s DEI Goals. Ensure traction for strategy and portfolio of initiatives, partnerships, and reporting for the respective communities. Pilot, evaluate and maximize ROI for efforts in support of each underrepresented population. Oversee external flagship sponsorships, leadership positioning, selection of diverse participants, and return on investment. Partner with Sector Strategic Integrators (HR) to identify senior leaders to serve each community and identify supporting talent through a High Visibility Opportunity approach. Report to the Director of DEI, working together to craft thought pieces and engage onsite at DEI events throughout the year. Identify opportunities to speak or position Director of DEI to speak on panels and events related to Booz Allen’s support of respective population. Identify external positioning for executives engaged in DEI work. Track talent acquisition numbers for population group and partner with talent acquisition DEI team to shift sources and events as required. Connect and coordinate across DEI organization to work toward the company’s DEI Goals. Oversee selection and submission of industry DEI awards. 


Basic Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years of experience in professional services

  • Experience in defining a DE&I strategy and implementing impactful diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within a corporate environment

  • Experience with public speaking to major audiences 

  • Experience supporting executive stakeholders in high stakes environments

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives or portfolios

  • Experience with leadership in advocating for DE&I initiatives and influencing stakeholders, including executives and team leaders, to integrate DE&I into organizational strategy and culture 

  • Experience processing complex analytics and building actionable business strategies through executive-ready PowerPoint format

  • Experience working across channels and organizations to lead a cohesive mission

  • Ability to influence stakeholders across the business, within peer set and executive positions, both internal and external

  • Bachelor's degree


Additional Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of Booz Allen’s demographics, culture, channels, expertise, and DEI progress to date

  • Knowledge of DE&I best practices, applicable laws, and industry trends.

  • Ability to operate in abstract environment and build organizations from scratch

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $153,400.00 to $285,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
