Job Description SummaryFront Desk
Greets all Radiology outpatients, enters orders into Meditech, and arrives orders in PACS. Directs patients to modalities and informs techs of the patient's arrival. Answers radiology phone calls and directs calls to the appropriate area. Burns CDs and prints patient reports going to outside facilities. Maintains stock of oral contrast at the front desk. Maintains stock of patient questionnaires at the front desk. Helps patients (when needed) in filling out questionnaires for CT, MRI, and Mammography. Ensures waiting room is tidy. Calls Environmental Services to sweep and/or mop when needed.
Contacts all scheduled patients to remind them of appointments. Verifies all prior imaging is obtained. Obtains pertinent orders for all diagnostic breast imaging. Works directly with Mammography Lead Technologist to ensure that all breast imaging exams are read promptly. Enters reports into Penrad or Penrad equivalent from Fusion. Contacts all `mammography patients called back for additional imaging from screening. Ensures all patient letters are printed and mailed. Verifies that all outside images are obtained before patient appointments. Coordinates obtaining images from outside facilities when needed & uploading to PACS. Works directly with Mammography Lead Technologist to ensure that all breast imaging exams are read promptly. Assists in all imaging modalities in obtaining prior exams from outside facilities. Documents requests, burns CDs, and prints reports for physician's offices and at the request of the patient. Monitors PACS for reports that need to be called on an emergent basis. Checks Mammo schedules daily to ensure all priors are obtained for diagnostic patients. Works closely with mammography to expedite the reading of screening exams. Digitizes and imports images into PACS for all outside exams. Scans reports into PACS for all outside exams. Faxes report to physician's offices when requested.
