The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting for a subset of our private equity and technology fund families and related special purpose vehicles. 

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the maintenance of the general ledger / accounting records for assigned fund families with the assistance of, and including oversight of, the Senior Accountants.
  • Prepare or review the calculations and notices for capital calls, distributions and periodic reporting to limited partners.
  • Prepare or review the quarterly financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned fund families.
  • Prepare account / investment / cash reconciliations as needed.
  • Manage / monitor / reconcile outstanding payables and receivables between the funds, management company and portfolio companies.
  • Monitor investment pipeline and expenses to calculate capacity of the funds.
  • Collaborate with Treasury on investment closings and cash reconciliation
  • Work with the tax department on reconciliations and calculations on book/tax withholding for capital activity
  • Liaise with external auditors and serving as a key contributor of the requested support for the funds’ audits.
  • Manage the fund administrator relationship, oversee and review work prepared by them for the funds they handle
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from other Finance team members and from members of the Investment and IR teams, and work on special projects requiring the compilation of data and preparation of various schedules as requested.
  • Assist with and respond to ad hoc requests and audit confirmation requests from limited partners.
  • Work with the Senior Accountants, the Controller and the Assistant Controller on cross-portfolio reporting.
  • Prepare or review calculations of fund level management fees and carried interest on a quarterly basis
  • Post notices and reporting to the investor portal.
  • Track and update for investor transfers and contact changes for assigned funds.
  • Assist with the documentation of internal accounting policies, procedures and controls.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance through new fund launches to understand LPA reporting requirements and side letter agreements
  • Review legal documents for funds, SPV’s and portfolio company transactions to ensure appropriate GL booking and adherence to guidelines

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 – 7 years of relevant experience in financial services with a leading public accountancy firm, service provider / fund administrator or asset manager
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Acute attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong interest in accounting and the private equity industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to tackle challenges and to constantly learn
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to occasionally work late if needed
  • Knowledge of eFront accounting system a plus
