Summary:

The Accounting Intern role has a strong focus on the Accounting industry. This role will work under the supervision of the VP of Administration to provide administrative support to the Finance department for multiple assets. This role is designed to offer practical experience to students or recent graduates in areas such as invoicing, reconciliation, and other administrative tasks. Our interns gain insight into Accounting processes and contribute to essential functions while learning valuable skills. 


Responsibilities:

  • Know, understand, and adhere to company established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures guest interactions are always positive. Smiles with every guest.
  • Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Preparing financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents.
  • Assisting with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
  • Working with bookkeeping software.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Organize a financial filing system that is easily accessible.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Processes all received invoices.
  • Ensure proper coding of expenses to correct accounts and departments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level, preferred course of study to include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting or other related majors.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficient in MS Office 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to demonstrate professional work ethic
  • Able to maintain flexible work schedule
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers.
  • Handle sensitive information with honesty and integrity.
