About the role

The Accounting and Payroll Specialist will take ownership of key processes within employee payroll and payroll systems implementations. Responsible for accurate processing and recording of employee payroll, prepares accurate financial information and provides excellent customer service to our employees. This position will also oversee general accounting and finance processes.

• Paid base on experience

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Manage weekly and bi-weekly payrolls in multiple states, including tax calculations, benefits processing, and compliance.
• Maintain employee payroll records, handle tax withholdings, deductions, and bonuses.
• Assist with financial audits and input payroll journal entries into the general ledger.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for the payroll system.
• Stay updated on payroll and accounting regulations.
• Maintain and update payroll policies and procedures.
• Possess strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
• Manage the employee purchase card system and ensure expense coding accuracy.
• Collaborate with departments for accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with accounts payable entry and customer billing as needed.
• Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
• Proficient in relevant software applications.
• Drive continuous improvement and lead change independently or within a team.

Job Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years' experience as a payroll/accounting professional.
• Proficient in Microsoft excel and word.
• Experience working with Dayforce payroll software preferred.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Speak fluent English, read, hear, and have good vision.
