Job Summary
We are looking for an outgoing, motivated, Accountant to join the Company’s finance team and report to the Sr. Accounting Manager. This will be an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to learn how to build scalable processes at a high-growth tech company.  The Accountant will have exposure to many facets of the business and the cutting edge finance tools used to scale operations. The main areas of focus will include the procure to pay process including employee credit card and expense reimbursement oversight and the month-end close process including posting routine journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts. A successful candidate is a self-starter who is willing to be a team player and wants to learn and is able to multitask.  The Accountant should be ready to thrive in a very fast-paced startup environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
 
Procure to Pay
Ensuring all employees are in compliance with our procurement policy
Setting up new vendors in our Procurement system with applicable supporting documentation 
Responsible for utilizing our AI based processing of all vendor invoices 
Prepare proposed weekly vendor payment runs for Controller review
Own all communication with our external vendors via the AP alias and all other forms of communication
 
Month End
Own designed monthly checklist task and complete by due date
Maintain supporting schedules for fixed assets and prepaids
Prepare routine journal entries for all assigned areas including cash, bounty pools, accruals, etc
Maintain on a daily basis clean and concise bank transactions to ensure proper bank reconciliations
Prepare routine detailed balance sheet reconciliations
Review vendor spend analysis and explain variances as required
 
Travel & Expense
Maintain and enforce T&E policy by utilizing our new T&E platform
Review and reconcile corporate credit card purchases
Review and submit employee expense reimbursements

Other
Participate in audit initiatives as required
Develop, implement and document policies and procedures
Additional projects and analysis as assigned by management

 

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

2-3 years of accounting experience, prior start-up company or similar experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in an accounting related field
Ability to handle change in a fast-paced growing company
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, and Accrualify a plus

 

 

Pay Range Disclosure: The base pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to Qualifications, Geographical Location, Education/certifications, Experience, Skill Sets, Training, and other business and organizational needs. 

A reasonable estimate of the current range for the position of Staff Accountant base is: $64,000- $84,000

This position may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program or commission plan, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
