Senior Expert Direct Tax Reporting (all genders)

We are looking for a Senior Expert Direct Tax Reporting (all genders) to support our Tax team.

This is really an exciting role where you can stand out by owning the tax numbers of the group and by helping to present and explain Zalando’s tax positions to our internal stakeholders, to our external auditors as well as to the public. 

In this role, you will be responsible for direct tax reporting under IFRS as part of the (quarterly) financial reporting cycle of the Zalando Group. You will be the owner of the process, the output and the tax technology behind it. You will further be responsible for meeting other reporting obligations of the Group, such as OECD Pillar 2, (public) CbCR, Tax Contribution and ESG.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• You will be running the tax reporting process as part of the financial reporting cycle. You will ensure that the processes are well documented and that the tax team supporting you with their calculation of current and deferred tax positions is well trained. 

• You will be the key contact for Finance and the auditors ensuring timely and accurate recording of the tax numbers. You will prepare appropriate and transparent tax analytics for tax leadership to ensure smooth communication.

• You own all direct tax tools used in the Tax team and will work on the implementation of new tools which are required to enable your reporting processes 

• You will further be responsible for meeting various other reporting obligations of the Group such as OECD Pillar 2, (public) CbCR, Tax Contribution and ESG, some of which are yet to be implemented and are key to the visibility and success of the tax team as a whole.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• Degree in tax, law, economics, business administration or a comparable background or equivalent. 

• You have a minimum 7+ years of professional experience as in-house expert or within a tax advisory/auditing firm and have hands-on experience with tax accounting, ideally for IFRS and German GAAP purposes. 

• You have ideally SAP knowledge and/or experience in other analytical programmes and strong analytical abilities.

• You are fluent in English (both written and spoken), German and other languages would be an advantage.

• Proactive approach, attention to detail, good communication skills, flexibility, and a willingness to take ownership over assigned projects.

• A strong interest in e-commerce, business and corporate strategy and an interest in working in an international environment.

• You are a hands on and detailed oriented team player looking for process improvements
