About the role

The C-12/King Air Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 (FAA A&P) Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12/King Air 200/350/1900 aircraft. 

  • A valid (FAA) A&P certificate is Required.

  • US Army C-12 and/or King Air 200/350/1900 mechanic hands-on maintenance experience is required. Years of experience required will be determined by level of mechanic assigned.

  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Gov Secret Security Clearance, and for facility and base access.

  • Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. 

  • These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.

  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.

  • Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.

  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.

  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.

  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.

  • Perform engine run or taxi operations.  Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.

  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Shift work may be required; must be willing and able to work any shift and hours assigned.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School degree or equivalent is required.

  • A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required; the (A&P) license must show compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.

  • AM-1 - A minimum of Two (2) years' experience as an (FAA) A&P Mechanic is Required; with Two (2) years of specific C-12/King Air hands-on experience preferred.

  • AM-2 - A minimum of Five (5) years of (FAA) A&P Mechanic experience required with Five (5) years of specific C-12/King Air hands-on maintenance experience required.

  • AM-3 -A minimum of Ten (10) years of (FAA) A&P experience required, with a Minimum of 13 years of specific C-12/King Air hands-on maintenance experience required.

  • A valid Driver's License is required.

  • Mechanic Tools are Required; Mechanics must provide their own Tools and Toolbox. Toolbox must be shadowed, each tool to be etched with mechanic PID. (Recruiter will provide tool requirements).

  • Must be willing and able to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation. (Site work hours TBD).

A&P Mechanic Medical Requirements:

  • Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within 10 feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed 5 years.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance is Required; US Citizenship is Required to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, and to obtain facility credentials and authorization (CAC) to work at this site and facility.

Physical and Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.

  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.

  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Comply with written Customer and company maintenance and logistics procedures and policies.

  • Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.

  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
