Role: Product Governance Manager

Band: band III
Immediate Reporting line: Directly to US CUO 
Based: Atlanta, Chicago, NYC or West Hartford
 
Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Serves as a deputy to the US CUO on all aspects relating to underwriting best practices, controls, enabling profitable growth.   Potential to take on people management responsibility.

Product, Pricing and Wordings Governance

  • Lead the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of agile governance frameworks and processes for Product, Pricing, Wordings and Appetite.
  • Review adherence to Product and Pricing governance operating procedures and guidelines in accordance with the Group Policies
  • Lead the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of an end-to-end, auto-renewal governance frameworks and documentation for our Traded business., 
  • Accountable for building and continuously improving US Product Oversight Governance charter, terms of reference, committees, operating routines, standard documentation and minutes.
  • Accountable for the US Product Oversight Group including Terms of Reference and Minutes, US Product Register,
  • Accountable for transparent documentation of US product review cycle and US product development pipeline.
  • Ensures that US Product Oversight Governance is seamlessly built into agile technology delivery Value Stream.
  • Collaborate with Compliance to ensure regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, and IT departments to integrate product governance into all aspects of the business.
  • Monitor and audit adherence to product governance frameworks and processes.
  • Provide training and support to staff on product governance frameworks and processes.
  • Assist the US CUO and Head of Group Underwriting Standards in driving strategic product governance initiatives.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of P&C insurance experience (+15 years preferable) in underwriting and/or regulatory management of US admitted and surplus commercial business, primarily casualty.
  • Experience in digital underwriting, controls, standards and product governance.
  • Strong working knowledge of US pricing & regulatory requirements, and an initial baseline knowledge of Lloyds minimum underwriting guidelines.
  • Have or quickly develop baseline knowledge of Lloyds underwriting requirements. 
  • Minimum BA or BS degree (or international equivalent).
