About the role

Amazon is looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS Energy Team. In this role, you will support AWS’ infrastructure expansion by developing energy projects with electric utilities and energy companies across AWS regions. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to grow AWS’ diverse, and low-cost energy supply. The candidate must be able to manage multiple large scale power infrastructure projects across different geographies and evaluate opportunities to reduce energy capital and operating expense. The candidate will identify, develop and execute energy projects, programs, and initiatives to achieve these outcomes. The candidate will manage utility interactions, project manage EPC and Owner's Engineering firms delivering power substations and work with engineering, real estate and planning teams to evaluate data center sites and develop the electric infrastructure to serve those sites. The candidate will work as part of an integrated team to implement energy program requirements and deliver tangible reliability and cost saving results.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong energy background and a proven track record of developing and delivering on large, at-scale energy project portfolios. Experience working with regulated electric utilities to develop, contract and deliver medium and high voltage power infrastructure, including related tariffs and agreements, is a must. The right candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the business, operations, and technical challenges, with the skill-set to independently drive tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, initiatives and team goals. The candidate must have experience in reliably delivering initiatives to completion in constrained and ambiguous environments, with practice in escalating and reporting to many organization leaders and teams across multiple levels. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing the day-to-day interactions with these partners, you will be responsible for ensuring energy requirements needed to support AWS’s global infrastructure expansion are met.
