About the role

Our Mission & Strategy:

At Pfizer, we apply science and our global resources to bring therapies to people that aim to extend and significantly improve their lives. For 175 years, patients have trusted Pfizer to discover, develop, and deliver medical breakthroughs that change patients’ lives. Today, we collaborate with patients and patient advocates to help develop breakthrough treatments and innovative approaches to address patient challenges. These partnerships have helped to increase patient engagement in research and development, diversify clinical trials, develop patient-friendly educational materials and patient support programs, and elevate priority policy and social impact issues. To support Pfizer’s vision for its immunoglobulin (Ig) portfolio to transform the lives of people living with rare autoimmune conditions like Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), through innovative treatments and comprehensive care solutions, the Pfizer Specialty Care Patient Solutions team is building an innovative patient advocacy support program for the strong Ig portfolio to compliantly and tactically support patient journeys.

Job Brief:

Pfizer Specialty Care Patient Solutions is seeking a compassionate, strategic, and organized Community Navigator (CN) to join our U.S. Patient Engagement Team, with primary responsibility for supporting patients and caregivers across the East U.S. territory. The CN will serve as a guide for Immunoglobulin (Ig) patients through their healthcare journey by providing fit-for-purpose education and navigation resources to help ensure they understand the treatment landscape and available resources. The CN will also be fully and appropriately integrated into Pfizer’s current cross-functional ecosystem ensuring that all patients can receive the appropriate support resources they want and need. The CN will compliantly triage patients as appropriate to applicable reimbursement support resources.

This role provides education and navigation support only and does not provide medical advice, clinical decision‑making, or reimbursement case management. The Community Navigator operates within defined compliance guardrails and triage pathways, partnering with Medical, Access, and Patient Support teams as appropriate.

The CN role is a field-based community-facing colleague for individuals living with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and their caregivers, with a focus on East U.S. communities and regional support needs. The primary function of the CN is to compliantly educate patients on the disease landscape and other patient support programs that may be available through Pfizer. The CN will be the single point of contact with the patient and will function as a liaison to either provide patients with internal or external resources. The CN role reports directly to the National Patient Engagement Director - Ig.

The objectives of the Patient Navigator (CN) role are:

  • Patient Education and Support: The CN longitudinally educates patients and caregivers about disease state awareness, treatment preparation and expectations, local and regional support offerings, health, and wellness resources within a patient’s community, as well as appropriate triage to available resources at Pfizer.
  • Patient Navigation: The CN assists patients in navigating their overall care and local support systems across diagnosis, treatment initiation, and ongoing therapy by connecting them to appropriate local, regional, and Pfizer resources. The CN does not assist with reimbursement support for patients prescribed Pfizer’s Ig therapies.
  • Collaboration: The CN closely and compliantly coordinates with the IG Advocacy Lead, Specialty Infusion Pharmacies (SIPs) Account Directors, FAS, Sales, and Field Medical along with other cross-functional partners to ensure that the integrated patient offerings align with intended support and educational objectives in the context of local market dynamics and longitudinal patient journeys

Why Patients Need You:

  • Individuals living with conditions treated with Ig therapies like CIDP, and their caregivers may face various challenges in diagnosis, understanding treatments options, obtaining, and maintaining treatments.
  • Proper disease education and awareness can equip patients to have the appropriate discussions with their healthcare providers.
  • Particularly in CIDP with new emerging therapies, patients need to understand the treatment options from Pfizer that they can then discuss with their healthcare providers to determine what is best fo
