About the role

Sales Account Manager
Rocky Mountain Laboratories – Tucson, AZ

About Us
Rocky Mountain Laboratories is a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive laboratory services. We are dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information and are committed to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge technology and a customer-focused approach.

Position
Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a motivated Sales Account Manager to expand our presence in the Tucson, AZ market. This role offers significant earning potential for high-performing sales professionals who are driven to build relationships, generate new business, and strengthen partnerships with healthcare providers. The ideal candidate is proactive, strategic, and skilled at navigating competitive healthcare environments.

If you’ve excelled in door-to-door, solar, or other outside sales roles, this could be an excellent transition into the healthcare and diagnostics field. The position offers a similar high-energy, relationship-driven environment — but with a focus on long-term client partnerships and recurring business growth.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with flexibility to meet client needs.
This is a full-time, field-based position requiring frequent in-person client visits throughout the Tucson area.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to establish and grow business in the Tucson metro area.
  • Identify and secure new clients, including mobile physicians, geriatric care providers, and underserved markets.
  • Actively prospect via in-person visits, cold calls, and direct outreach (not an inbound sales role).
  • Manage the full sales cycle — from lead generation and relationship building to closing and onboarding.
  • Deliver compelling presentations (in-person and virtual) that communicate the value of our diagnostic services.
  • Negotiate service agreements and establish long-term partnerships with healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, pipeline status, and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (lab, logistics, compliance) to ensure client satisfaction and support.
  • Monitor regional trends, competitor activity, and regulatory updates impacting the diagnostic industry.
  • Represent Rocky Mountain Laboratories with professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness in all client interactions.
  • Support local marketing, referral development, and community engagement initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in B2B or direct sales.
  • Proven track record in prospecting, outreach, and closing new business without reliance on inbound leads.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills within a competitive market.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with excellent follow-through and accountability.
  • Ability to manage a territory independently and maintain a consistent sales pipeline.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and digital tools such as Google Workspace and virtual meeting software.
  • Reliable transportation and comfort with frequent local travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory, or medical device sales.
  • Familiarity with CLIA and FDA regulations related to clinical laboratories.
  • Understanding of molecular diagnostics, core lab, and toxicology testing.
  • Demonstrated success in launching or developing a new territory or market.
  • History of success in commission-based or performance-incentive roles.
  • Adaptability in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.

Job Type:
Full-Time, W2

Salary:

  • Base salary of $75,000 annually for the first 3 months, then $55,000 annually.
  • Strong performers are expected to achieve six-figure earnings after 6 months through bonuses and commissions.
  • Up to $650 per month for fuel, mileage, and phone reimbursement.
