The University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM), actively seeks a motivated and experienced individual to join us as an Administrative Specialist II to join our team.

By providing direct support to Emergency Medicine's Executive Leadership Team, you will play a key role in providing vital administrative support, ensuring the seamless operation of departmental functions and driving the success of strategic initiatives. The UF Department of Emergency Medicine proudly maintains an affiliation with UF Health Shands Hospital, a distinguished 1,162-bed teaching facility renowned for its Level 1 trauma center and cutting-edge burn center. As the primary referral center for North Central Florida, our institution stands as a beacon of excellence in healthcare. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Support the department leadership by coordinating and conducting various administrative duties requiring comprehensive knowledge of university policies and procedures. Serve as a liaison between internal faculty and external stakeholders, ensuring the execution of departmental strategic initiatives.
  • Event and Calendar Management: Manage the calendar for the Chair and leadership, schedule meetings, seminars, and conferences. Oversee event coordination and logistics, ensuring all details are meticulously handled.
  • Faculty Evaluation and Promotion: Manage the faculty evaluation process and collaborate with leadership to ensure smooth execution of promotion and tenure procedures. Assist in organizing and tracking progress of faculty evaluation packets.
  • OPS Physician Hiring: Manage OPS physician hiring efforts, including monthly reconciliation of applicants, overseeing credentialing, and finalizing ePAF for hire.
  • Clinical Operations Management: Coordinate departmental activities, support leadership with administrative tasks, and ensure smooth operations of day-to-day functions.
  • Special Projects: Conduct and oversee special projects by researching, gathering data, analyzing information, and preparing reports. Coordinate the collection, analysis, and submission of departmental data.

Expected Salary:

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $61,000, and is commensurate with education and experience.
