The Key Account Manager, will play a crucial role in supporting our key foodservice accounts and building strong relationships within the organization.
Duties of the Key Account Manager
- Supports a portfolio of poultry key accounts on a day-to-day basis
- Executes account plans aligned with category goals, promotional calendars, and customer-specific strategies
- Leads day-to-day customer interactions, including order management, fill rate follow-ups, and service-related communication
- Supports account development through analysis and follow-up
- Manages relationships with accounts, ensuring consistent service and growth support
- Handles routine customer topics, deductions, service issues, and smaller commercial discussions
- Identifies incremental growth opportunities (distribution gains, new SKUs, value-added poultry items) and escalates as needed
- Assists in preparing customer presentations, line reviews, and product demonstrations focused on poultry offerings
- Coordinates cross-functionally with sales, supply chain, production, and logistics to ensure order fulfillment and resolve service issues
- Supports execution of promotions, forecasts, and inventory planning to align with production capacity and demand
- Tracks key performance metrics and prepares reports and insights
- Assists with contract administration, pricing updates, and customer agreements
- Monitors market trends, and competitive activity
- Supports achievement of sales targets, distribution growth, and customer retention goals within poultry categories
- Collaborates with internal teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality customer experience from plant to shelf
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 1–4 years of experience in sales or account management within a vertically integrated protein manufacturing company or food distribution environment
- Experience supporting account management activities, including execution of account plans and customer initiatives
- Proven ability to manage day-to-day customer interactions, including order coordination, issue resolution, and routine communications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 1–4 years of experience in sales or account management within a vertically integrated protein manufacturing company or food distribution environment
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
