Purpose

The MPA Program in the McCombs School of Business is ranked No. 1 in the U.S. and is STEM-certified by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. This part-time administrative position is responsible for scheduling, logistics, and serving as a liaison between the director and stakeholders, allowing the director to focus on higher-level strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Office management (Front desk, supplies, student worker, student queries)
  • Community building event management (ordering supplies, publicizing events) and management of MPA Canvas page as well as December graduation
  • Processing payments and reimbursement requests. Oversee office mailings

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with a variety of constituents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. 
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or related field and at least three years of administrative experience.
  • Experience with UT administrative processes and procedures for expenses, vendor payment and processing, contracts, invoicing.
  • Experience working with faculty and students.
  • Experience with University of Texas policies, procedures, and administrative systems.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated excellent use of judgment and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service and previous experience in a customer-oriented environment.

Salary Range

$21,500+ depending on qualifications (based on a 20 hour work week)

Working Conditions

  • Works in standard office conditions, in a shared office environment.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of work visas.
  • This is an Austin, TX-based position
