Position Summary:

We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Research Associate/Research Associate to support the manufacturing of novel nucleic acid therapeutics. We are looking for an individual who enjoys hands-on laboratory benchwork and brings scientific rigor and intellectual curiosity to their role. This individual will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment as part of a highly collaborative and rapidly growing team.

• Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing nucleic acids through methods such as PCR and in vitro transcription
  • Design, construction, and validation of DNA expression constructs
  • Molecular cloning skills including restriction cloning and Gibson and Golden Gate assembly
  • Experience producing plasmid templates and purifying in vitro transcribed mRNA for use in culture
  • Performing molecular biology assays and techniques, including restriction digestion, gel electrophoresis, Qubit and Nanodrop quantification, etc. 
  • Preparing nucleic acid libraries for sequencing
  • Designing, executing, troubleshooting, and analyzing experimental methods and findings 
  • Effectively communicating experimental methods and findings in oral and written formats
  • Working independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field; or multiple years of cloning of experience
  • Broad experience in molecular biology techniques, particularly as relevant for the production, purification, and quantification of nucleic acids
  • Enthusiasm for working at the bench
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in developing new skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and rapidly growing biotech environment
