In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

Comet Technologies USA Inc. seeks a Firmware Engineer / Senior in San Jose, CA

Responsibilities:

• Work with engineering teams to design, change, and improve product quality in existing and future products.
• Perform system-level analysis, characterization, and failure analysis of COMET control systems. Contribute to architecture, interface, and requirements definition in current and future products.
• Develop RTOS (Real-time Operating System) firmware for TI ARM/MCU/DSP products in custom embedded systems, including firmware using the TI CCS programming environment for RTOS embedded control systems.
• Develop and maintain software documentation, manuals, and instructions based on COMET’s standard protocols.

Experience, Education, and Skills Required:

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience as a Firmware Engineer or a related occupation.

 

Experience with:

• Embedded firmware design and implementation; Real-time operating systems;
• Design and implement protocols (EtherCAT, serial binary, RS232, Analog);
• SPI, I2C, Ethernet and EtherCAT buses;
• Electronics schematics and PCBA;
• ARM cortex architecture;
• Python;
• MatLAB;
• Javascript;
• SQL;
• R;
• HTML;
• Linux;
• Gitlabs; Code Composer Studio; Visual Studio 2019, 2015, 2013; and
• EtherCAT Configurator.
