EcomCFO is seeking an exceptional finance and accounting executive to provide client-facing fractional CFO services to our ecommerce clients. As a Client CFO, you will serve as fractional CFO to a portfolio of ecommerce clients.  You will be a trusted advisor to management ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate financial reporting, analysis, and strategic planning.  

This candidate will be expected to provide operational support and strategic insight based on demonstrable experience building out financial operations for growth-oriented companies with a significant ecommerce presence.  Your previous progressive experience as a senior-level Controller, VP of Financial Operations, or similar fractional role in financial services will be integral to your success as a trusted advisor to our clients. 

This candidate will be at ease projecting cash flow, developing financial models and projections, preparing and delivering monthly reporting.  Their ability to assess performance and develop insight and solutions across multiple clients will be based on foundational experience and a deep understanding of supply chain operations, logistics, e-commerce platforms, and core accounting fundamentals.

Someone who is successful in this role is a naturally organized person who can manage 8-10 clients easily and at the same time lead and manage a fractional finance and accounting team, making sure that everything is attended to and running smoothly.   You will be passionate about learning, curious by nature, and a determined puzzle solver.  You appreciate and thrive in an environment where no two days are ever the same.

 This is a full-time, remote position.

Requirements

We are looking for a Client-Focused Financial Operations Leader specifically with these requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or CPA desired.
• 10+ years of progressive experience building financial operations and leading financial teams for 10MM+ ecommerce and/or retail companies, or:  equivalent experience leading client-facing teams within the financial services/accounting industry.
• Fundamental understanding of GAAP and its application to supply chain management, inventory, logistics, and revenue and expense recognition, all in an ecommerce environment.
• Demonstrable track record of leading financial planning, analysis, reporting processes and other complex deliverables.  Strong project management skills are essential
• Must be professional and polished and able to present complex financial information in language readily understandable by a variety of internal and external constituencies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams; Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in ERP systems, QBO and Netsuite in particular, and additional Saas and systems used in a modern financial operations environment; Excel expertise, and comfort with project management, Slack, and a general tech-forward mindset are essential.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Principal ownership of the client relationship for a portfolio of client companies including the timely and accurate delivery of EcomCFO’s full suite of accounting and financial services
• Provide strategic and operational financial leadership to the client’s finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Maintain this level of leadership internally across teams and levels
• Prepare and presentation of monthly financial reporting and analysis to clients and other internal and external stakeholders as required including financial institutions, boards of directors, external auditors, and tax CPA’s
• Maintain a deep and fundamental understanding of how a client’s operations translate into specific numbers on the profit and loss and balance sheet; complete understanding of GAAP, materiality, and each client’s level of conformity
• Own the process and delivery of cash flow projections and management of  working capital;  effectively; Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and liquidity management; identify risks and implement strategies to optimize liquidity
• Careful attention to clients' needs in order to assess, define, and execute additional fina
