Direct Support Professional - Caregiver

DABS Inc provides comprehensive life skills training to adults with developmental disabilities, especially those experiencing placement challenges across California. We develop placement opportunities in order to help clients achieve a dignified experience of living and thriving within a network of community support and outreach.
Our life skills training enables our clients to reach their goals, create lasting and meaningful relationships, and to gain access to opportunities for learning and community outreach. With guidance, our clients are able to make their own informed decisions based on their own needs and wishes without threatening nor restricting their independence.

What You Will Do

• Providing daily support with activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and personal hygiene routines.
• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and well-being.
• Administering medications as needed, based on individual care plans.
• Implementing program goals through home and community-based activities, including outings.
• Applying behavior intervention strategies, including proactive, reactive, and de-escalation techniques.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of support provided and progress toward goals.
• Collaborating with a team of internal and external professionals to ensure the best care and support for each individual.

What We Need From You

• Experience with behavior management and/or ABA therapy is preferred but not required.
• Current CPR certification (we can provide resources for completion).
• Recent TB test (we can provide resources for completion).
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities—experience is a plus but not required.
• For roles that require driving: a valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Ability to pass a federal and state fingerprint background check.
