Summary:

The Accounting Specialist will support Worldwide Golf’s day-to-day accounting operations, help ensure accurate financial reporting, and collaborate with other accounting team members. This person will also work cross-functionally with other internal teams and retail store managers, and externally with our vendors. This position reports to the Accounting Lead and will work with the Controller and Director of Accounting, who is a licensed CPA.

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP

• Perform account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies

• Review all invoices for accuracy, and that they have appropriate documentation prior to payment.

• Communicate with vendors to obtain credits for returned or short shipped products.

• Communicate with retail store managers and other company employees to investigate and resolve accounting-related issues

• Support Accounts Payable operations, including weekly payment runs and manual AP invoice processing.

• Assist in month-end and year-end close activities

• Participate in audits and help maintain documentation for internal controls

• Assist with other special projects assigned by Controller and Accounting Lead.

Desired Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience is required (accounting experience in retail industry or similar multi-location environment is a plus)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with SAP is a plus, but not required

• Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset when working with Worldwide Golf colleagues

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements

• Experience with ERP system transitions or implementations is a plus, but not required

• An interest or background in golf is a plus, but not required

• Working fully onsite at our Santa Ana corporate headquarters is required
