What You’ll Work On
The Informatics Sales Specialist (ISS) is responsible for working directly with our customers to sell informatic solutions that support their business needs and ensures that the sales goal for the given territory is met or exceeded. Understands how informatic solutions can improve hospital outcomes with specific focus on the laboratory space. Leverages expertise to recommend IT enablers and services that will help our customers to drive cost efficiencies, operational productivity, and improve the quality of patient care delivery. Collaborates with and is supported by other Sales team members.
Position Responsibilities:
- Execute contract negotiations to achieve the sales quota for given customer base. Create territory and strategic account plans to achieve sales goal.
- Conduct informatics product demonstrations to show how the application of informatic solutions, such as IT enablers, can improve hospital/laboratory performance.
- Be the subject matter expert on the IT enabler portfolio, both internally and externally, to provide guidance and support for technical product inquiries.
- Act as the central point of contact for the customer to coordinate appropriate Abbott resources/support necessary to execute the strategic account plan. Provide superior customer service that motivates customers to refer our services to their colleagues and professional network.
- Effectively manage the timely execution and high-quality delivery of all deliverables and related transactional work (i.e., statements of work, pricing, etc.).
- Build and persevere strong customer relationships to continually understand changing needs, drive new sales, and protect base business.
- Navigate within a highly matrix environment using strong communication/interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority.
- Based on customer interactions, share ideas on customer-centric business opportunities with the potential to increase satisfaction and engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience with IT enablers/software, ideally in a sales or customer-facing role.
- Demonstrate deep technical knowledge of informatics solutions and be effective providing guidance to non-technical audience.
- Familiar with how IT technology is used in the laboratory/hospital space.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred.
