IT & Facilities Support Specialist

This highly visible individual will provide second tier computer support to Holmes Murphy employees, be responsible for the care, maintenance and efficient operation of facilities, equipment, and furnishings for all Waukee Holmes Murphy property, owned or leased, in accordance with the established objectives and procedures of Holmes Murphy & Associates, Inc, and help coordinate office events. This is a hybrid role that will provide equal support between IT and Facilities (tech support, A/V support, facilities, and events support).
Duties:
IT Support:
- Provide tier one technology support with exceptional customer service via face-to-face, telephone, and electronic communication.
- Participate in Tech Support call rotation answering inbound customer calls.
- Troubleshoot and manage hardware (including portable devices), software, or network problems.
- Create, escalate and route support desk tickets while managing tickets escalated from tier one support.
- Document solutions and IT processes.
- Image and install software for company deployed computers.
- Periodically travel to other office locations for various job functions.
- Provide support and implement audio visual technologies in conference rooms.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Facilities Support:
- Perform routine maintenance duties throughout primary location as needed.
- Travel to and Provide assistance with all office relocation and construction projects.
- Perform minor carpentry duties, hang pictures in rooms/offices and paint walls when needed.
- Be proactive in maintaining highly professional appearance of all areas of the building (inside and out) and facility equipment
- Perform and coordinate special projects as identified by the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain confidentiality of information attained through working relationships with all levels of employees.
- Point of contact for emergency situations; on call as needed.
- Available to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Provide elevated support for Holmes Murphy’s Events team, employees and clients. Examples: participate in meetings, event set up, help during the event, event clean up.
- Available to travel to offsite locations for larger Holmes Murphy events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a strong customer focus, results oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively and prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity using multiple remote tools and utilities to provide technology support.
- Capable of exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to work with detail, follow directions and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Intermediate troubleshooting techniques with software and hardware.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of inquiries.
- Ability to install or remove computer equipment which may require lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Capable of organizing and documenting ticket information received from users.
- Must have above average knowledge and abilities in the following areas: minor carpentry, painting, general repair, maintenance and upkeep.
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle when required and maintain valid license and insurance coverage.
- Ability to assist in other work-related areas as required.
- Ability to occasional travel to other office locations to assist with moves, events, special projects, etc.
- Knowledge of the methods, tools, materials and equipment used in facility maintenance.
- Must be knowledgeable of and comply with HMA’s Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: 2 Year College Degree or Equivalent Experience preferred
- Experience: Some computer knowledge
Must posses valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Previous maintenance/repair experience preferred.
