In the Sr. Principal Software Technical Lead role you will lead a team of engineers related to Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) ground stations. Due to the security clearance requirement, this is an onsite position in our Dulles, VA office.

What You Will Do
- Contributes to the decision-making process and is part of Configuration Control Board quorum
- Lead discussions with the team about design and the technical decomposition of the work
- Acts as primary customer contact on status and performance and anticipates and fulfills customer needs to ensure their satisfaction and continued business
- Individual team contributor for implementing software changes from the Customer or internal approved scope
- Supports decomposition of Customer and internal requirements into manageable features and stories
- Considered a program Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal and external scope management, software implementation, and supporting functions
- Mentors and provides understanding to new and existing team members
- Develops content, supports team in discussions, and willing to present at major Design and Technical Reviews with the Customers and End Users

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Must have 10+ years of experience supporting sustainment and new development activities
- Must have experience in various programming languages and scripting languages
- Must have experience working with a Configuration Control Board
- Must have experience acting as a POC for company customer interaction
- Must have experience implementing software changes in various programming languages
- Must have experience decomposing customer and internal program requirements into manageable features and stories
- Must have experience mentoring employees
- Must be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for scope management, software implementation, and supporting functions
- *Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in Java, C++, C, and Python
- Experience using the Atlassian tool suite.
- Superb interpersonal and presentation skills.
