Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) – US Government Operations

As part of a mission-critical environment, you will work side by side with the operations team to rapidly resolve urgent issues and collaborate on designing and implementing long-term, sustainable solutions that elevate system reliability and ensure compliance and customer satisfaction for government customers. Responsibilities:
- Enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of OCI services in US Government sovereign realms by improving availability, optimizing latency, and ensuring efficient operation across multiple services.
- Work closely with the operations team to investigate and resolve immediate, high-priority issues, as well as to coordinate on permanent remediation strategies within US Government environments.
- Manage and take ownership of several small-scale projects or services, driving operational improvements and best practices within your immediate team and in alignment with government compliance requirements.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of tools, processes, and automation that streamline deployment, monitoring, and incident response activities for sovereign environments.
- Play a key role in updating and refining existing service architectures to boost system dependability, performance, and compliance.
- Collaborate with teammates on system design reviews and advocate for architectural changes that strengthen reliability, maintainability, and security.
- Own the definition, implementation, and visibility of service metrics, KPIs, and SLOs; use these to identify areas for continuous improvement and meet government standards.
- Seek out repeated manual processes (operational toil) and replace them with automated solutions wherever possible.
- Work autonomously on most assignments, knowing when to seek feedback or support in unfamiliar technical areas.
- Develop and implement changes that enable safe, seamless deployments by other engineers in secure, compliant environments.
- Participate in incident reviews, provide actionable insights for resolution, and drive learning from production issues.
- Contribute to process documentation and help onboard or mentor teammates on effective operational practices in the context of US Government requirements.
Required Skills:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a STEM field, or equivalent professional experience with consistent career growth (M.S. is a plus)
- Experience with Linux (or UNIX) System Administration, Networking, Storage, Compute, and Virtualization (Certifications such as CCNA, virtualization, or UNIX OSs are a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud concepts, distributed systems, and networking
- A strong awareness of cybersecurity (e.g., experience or certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP is a plus)
- Experience participating in incident management, incident bridges, and technical troubleshooting
- Customer focused and a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Experience in cloud technical support, operations, NOC, or similar environments is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and domains and coach others
- **Data analytics background desired but not required
Shift Format:
- Monday through Friday core hours, with on-call rotation for escalated incidents 10–15% of the year (on-call support ~40 days/year)
- Standard 40-hour work week, with on-call assignment approximately once every two months; may include nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Overtime possible for on-call or urgent duties as business needs require
Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
