About the role
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years of hospitality and/or recreation experience
- Minimum one (1) years in a supervisory role
- A. with course work emphasis in Recreation or in a related field preferred
- Must be Adult and Child CPR, AED and First Aid Certified
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
- Must have a favorable driving history.
- Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of ago or older to drive a company vehicle
- Proficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator
- Ability to effectively operate Resort Suite, Opera, Adaco, and Share Point

Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Supervise Junior Staff, Coordinators, and Interns
- Interact with and supervise children during scheduled activities
- Oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of Activities department
- Oversee programs including Camp Cloister, Cookie Cutters, Kid's Night Out, Tie Dye, and any other programs scheduled.
- Assist with scheduling staff for programs and events
- Oversee station assignments, opening and closing work duties, etc.
- Communicate and enforce company policies, rules and regulations, provide guidance and direction for staff which supports the aforementioned Sea Island procedures
- Plan and execute holiday programs, activities, and events
- Oversee the planning and execution of birthday parties and other private functions upon request of members and guests and assist the coordinator when necessary.
- Develop new programs to generate revenue for the Activities Department
- Submit food orders for meals and keep track of food counts
- Oversee the development of functional schedules for each program
- Oversee the development of themes, crafts, and games to be incorporated into programs
- Create a well balanced menu for each day of the week for Camp Cloister, Kid's Night Out and special events.
- Assist the manager in maintaining current certification information for all staff and working with Human Resources to update employee certification records
- Responsible for scheduling, monitoring, and motivating staff
- Assist the manager in ensuring the accuracy of staff time and payroll attendance reports for employees
- Assists in the interviewing and performance evaluation process in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Lead and direct orientation and training regime for related staff
- Guide, coach, counsel, develop, train and inspire direct reports in a leadership role which promotes teamwork and enhances the overall service experience and maximizes productivity
- Support Service Quality training efforts to drive individual and collective staff development
- Lead daily Junior Staff morning meeting and assist in weekly or biweekly department staff meetings
- Promote cooperation and communication between departments as well as throughout resort operations
- Assist in the development and implementation of resort guests and members activities along with special programs for corporate groups as necessary
- Work cross-departmentally with others to ensure events get set up and run properly
- Assist in the development and implementation of Children, Family, Teen, and Holiday Programs
- Establish effective communication with various departments to accurately relay activities and special events information
- Coordinate with other Sea Island departments to create BEOs, plan special requests or needs for programs, parties, and holiday events.
