The estimated base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $120,000 per year.  
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

We're seeking a driven Sales Manager to expand sales and foster relationships with MRO and Retail customers.  As a Field Sales Manager you will be responsible for managing the sales process with independent building material wholesalers, Lumber dealers, and Grainger within the Northeast region, including CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, VT.  You will also be tasked with achieving or exceeding budgeted ceilings and grid sales volume and mix targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing local relationships with Account Managers who work for MRO Companies (Maintenance Repair and Operating Supplies), and GPO Companies (Group Purchasing Organizations)
  • Training and supporting customer account managers as they sell Armstrong ceilings to facilities to meet their replacement needs.
  • Developing a pull-through strategy with Account Managers for specific facilities to increase their replacement rate of damaged or under-performing ceilings.
  • Using facility assessment to uncover replacement needs and developing findings report for each facility visited
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth within Grainger and retail customer segments.
  • Leverage data, through customer POS and internal reporting to maximize market share, sales, and profits
  • Initiate merchandising changes and updates to dealer displays.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at Grainger, Lumber Dealers & Wholesalers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and prospective retail customers, creating and implementing effective sales strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop sales materials and campaigns tailored to both Grainger and retail customer bases.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adapt sales strategies and maximize sales potential.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless order processing, delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales, with experience in both B2B and B2C environments, preferably within the industrial and retail sectors.
  • Strong understanding of sales dynamics within Grainger and  or retail markets, with a focus on relationship-building and solution-selling.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach to achieving sales targets.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the designated territory and possess a valid driver's license.
