About the role

Job Description The client is seeking an experienced Electronics Software Developer specializing in Power Electronics to join a highly innovative engineering team focused on electric vehicle technologies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced electric motor control software and inverter functionality used in next-generation electrified vehicles. The successful consultant will work within a multidisciplinary software development environment, supporting the complete development lifecycle from concept evaluation and architecture design to implementation, testing, validation, calibration, and production readiness. The position requires strong technical expertise in power electronics, electric machine control, embedded systems, and model-based software development. The consultant will collaborate closely with software engineers, system architects, verification teams, and vehicle integration specialists to deliver high-quality solutions that meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for electric motor control and power electronics applications. Contribute to the development of in-house electric machine control functionality aimed at delivering optimal torque performance under varying operating conditions. Participate in architectural design activities, concept investigations, and software framework development for advanced inverter systems. Implement and validate software functions using model-based development methodologies, primarily through MATLAB Simulink and automatic code generation techniques. Develop low-level software components and communication interfaces using C programming where required. Conduct software verification activities, including Unit Testing, Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and rig/dynamometer testing. Support calibration activities on test benches, development rigs, and vehicles to optimize system functionality and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout all project phases, from requirement analysis to final vehicle validation. Review, analyze, and refine software requirements while ensuring traceability and compliance with development standards. Utilize version control and code review tools to maintain software quality and support agile development practices. Participate in vehicle testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous improvement activities. Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to software design, implementation, testing, and validation. Required Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in Power Electronics and Electric Vehicle systems. Advanced knowledge of electric machine control technologies, including: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) Asynchronous Motors (ASM) Expert-level proficiency in MATLAB Simulink for control system design and development. Hands-on experience with calibration and validation activities in test rigs and vehicle environments.
