JOB PURPOSE:
The Vice President (VP) of Business Development will lead initiatives to build and strengthen relationships with the community, drive membership growth, and enhance the organization’s presence and reputation. This executive role involves strategic planning, community engagement, and marketing efforts to support the organization’s mission and growth objectives. The VP of Business Development works closely with the COO and other senior leaders to align community and membership initiatives with the organization’s overall strategy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the healthcare organization's departments, including, but not limited to, Business Development, Clinical and Non-Clinical Intake operations, Community Outreach, and Clinical Assessments.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance community relations and drive membership growth.
- Align community engagement and membership initiatives with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase membership and patient enrollment.
- Identify and target new markets and demographics for membership growth.
- Monitor and analyze membership trends and data to inform strategy.
- Establish partnerships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to promote health initiatives and membership.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control measures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including medical staff, patients, community leaders, and partners.
- Represent the organization in external meetings, conferences, and community events.
Management Standards
- Policies and Procedures: (1) Create Policies and Procedures needed, (2) Monitor Compliance, (3) Ensure all employees are aware of the policies, (4) Review them annually, (5) Discuss and obtain final approval of new or revised policies with the P&P committee annually.
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple departments.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify areas of potential non-compliance and vulnerability within the organization, developing strategies and controls to mitigate risks and strengthen compliance efforts.
- Anticipate industry trends and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and streamline workflows.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies to optimize financial performance.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, regulators, and community organizations.
- Clearly communicate performance expectations to all employees, including goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and values.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to any employee under your organizational structure (Employees and Management at any level) regarding their performance, highlighting strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth. Address performance issues promptly to prevent them from escalating, maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation.
- Lead departmental in responding, including closing the loop on any potential Corrective Action Plan (CAPs), to internal and external audit inquiries (including CMS, NY DOH, and other government agencies) for all CenterLight legal entities, ensuring timely delivery of requested information.
- Promote a high-performance and continuous improvement culture that values learning and a commitment to quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Development, and/or related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5+) years of experience in a Business Development role for a health plan, home care, and/or managed care organizations,
- Minimum of two (2+) years in a Business Development/Sales Management role (Director or above).
- Minimum of eight (8) years working in the healthcare industry in the New York City area.
- Proven track record of successful operational management in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically, drive change, and deliver results in a complex healthcare environment.
