Position Summary

The Production Scheduler (PS) is a key business leader who is responsible for the certation and dissemination of multiple, weekly production schedules. The PS will drive production schedules generated by customer demand to control product inventory, resource requirements, and to confirm the plan is aligned to satisfy ANC business objectives. The Production Scheduler will ensure all production schedules are cascaded to production control staff, manufacturing groups, and organizational leadership. This role will communicate customer demand variances to external customers to confirm differences are accurate. The PS will liaise with Material Planning, Project Management, Logistics/Packaging, and Manufacturing to remove potential impediments to production plan execution. The PS is also responsible for maintenance of the production and inventory management systems 

 

 

 

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Create weekly production schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, equipment, and labor availability.
  • Recommend solutions to reduce production costs and work cross-functionally to improve production planning processes and plan integrity.
  • Maintain/reconcile production plan to ensure cost effectiveness, while also meeting standard inventory and customer demand.
  • Prepare status and performance reports and reconcile production plans due to production issues and customer requirement changes.
  • Promptly communicate plan changes cross-functionally.
  • Work with customers and sales team to improve/confirm forecast accuracy.
  • Analyze overall volume, demand variations, material/packaging constraints, and capacity/resource issues to ensure integrity of Production Plan.
  • Lead weekly reviews with PC Staff.
  • Lead monthly reviews with Sales, Purchasing, and PC Staff.
  • Work with PC Leadership, Sales, and Project Management to support rollout of new products and holiday/seasonal inventory planning.
  • Manage and maintain production and inventory management systems (PLS, PCTS, SQL).
  • Help in the training, coaching, and development of the PC Planning Team.
  • Confirm integrity of production plan and daily production results.
  • Maintain communication and relationships with internal and external customers to ensure integrity of production plan data.
  • Manage inventory systems and align with market physical inventory.
  • Align PC Staff with demand expectations, adjustments, and plan variations.
  • Other related duties as required.

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in Planning, Supply Chain, or a related role.
  • Computer skills — Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Intermediate analytical abilities and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good relationship building skills.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to drive change with a self-starter mentality.

 

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Supply Chain or related discipline (or) Equivalent experience.
