Job Description
As a key member of the O&T (Operations & Technology) Finance team, the Finance Manager will own the budgeting/LRP (long range plan), forecasting, expense management, headcount, and allocation processes for the Facilities Operations in NY, NJ, and FL.
This role provides the unique opportunity to gain a solid understanding of NBCU operations through daily exposure/interaction with O&T operational teams as well as the greater NBCU finance organization. The role’s responsibilities include:
Position overview:
- Own monthly and quarterly close processes through accurate pacing updates, variance analysis, journal entries, expense accruals, allocations, and other necessary closing activities
- Create/update/maintain operating models for budgeting & tracking of expenses
- Responsible for owning the P&L planning processes for all estimates, budgets, and long-range plans (LRP) for Facilities operations
- Work with operators on KPIs and other ad hoc modeling
- Support Facilities operations team on invoicing, vendor relations, and reporting
- Ownership and maintenance of Facilities rent/condo fee reporting and trade spend reporting
- Perform P&L analysis, i.e. identifying risks and opportunities and assisting in summarizing performance in pitch presentations to senior management for estimates & plans
- Create reports with metrics for budget and P&L tracking purposes
- Maintain and support build out of Facilities allocations
- Drive P&L performance through actively monitoring and reviewing POs, invoicing, and account payables cycles
- Partner with operations teams and participate in regular business meetings, operations analysis, and strategic projects to drive productivity
- Maintain C&B and headcount changes across operational P&Ls
- Maintain up to date finance process documentation
- Process and analyze all the necessary reports in software tools including SAP, BW, Essbase, AOE, SNAP (AP tool), Purchase Manager (PO tool), and Concur (T&E)
- Manage, coach, and develop one direct report
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance or Accounting
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite products – particularly advanced excel skills (comfortable with v-lookups, if statements, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint
- Must be willing to work in New York
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older
Desired Characteristics:
- Operational finance experience and/or the desire to learn the facilities industry as well as effectively communicating any financial impacts in a digestible way to stakeholders (i.e. controllership, leadership, operations, FP&A)
- Highly collaborative and willing to “pick up the phone” to follow up and get answers when needed
- Quick learner and team player
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with SAP and Essbase preferred
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to all levels of the organization
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles: accruals, amort
