Zillow Research & Insights (ZRI), includes Customer and Partner Insights Strategists, UX Researchers, Behavioral Scientists, Population Scientists, and Research Operations. We all play a significant role within the greater product and marketing organizations. ZRI sits within Zillow Experience Design (ZxD), a fast-paced, collaborative, and driven product design team. About the role
As a Principal Behavioral Scientist, you’ll drive quantitative research and provide our data-hungry team with actionable insights addressing customer and business needs. Our mission is to make Zillow the most-loved place to discover, buy, sell, or rent a home. Responsibilities
Lead advanced quantitative research through the entire research cycle (e.g. ideation, design, analysis, dissemination)
Work closely with product managers, marketers, strategy, and other researchers
Create scalable frameworks, templates, and processes
Present actionable findings, engage partners in research, and influence them to take action
Lead multiple projects independently, prioritize business objectives, and deliver high-quality work on time, across multiple business lines
Contribute, learn, grow, and have fun
Who you are
Applicants should have a PhD in a quantitative social science discipline (e.g., psychology, demography, political science) and 5+ years experience with leading quantitative research in industry
Experience creating customer metrics and programmatically assessing user experiences
Solid understanding of user experience principles and methodologies
Expertise in survey design and methodology for repeated cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys (e.g., sampling, ecological momentary surveys)
Expertise in quantitative analyses for survey methods (e.g., survey weighting, multilevel modeling, models addressing autocorrelation)
Experience with interdisciplinary collaborations
Advanced user of R, Python, or similar, for data analysis and experience with SQL
Advanced user of Qualtrics, or similar for data collection
