We currently have an opportunity for an Interface Manager.  Join our team and play a key role in leading and co-ordinating the active inputs between the maintenance contracts. Reporting to Maintenance Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity 

Downer have been appointed the Maintenance Contractor for the CRLL City Rail Link C3 project for a period of up to 30 years, the Asset Management and Maintenance Services contract (AMAS). 

 

The core responsibility of the Interface Manager is to lead and coordinate the integration of maintenance, operational, and Whole of Life (WoL) requirements between the AMAS maintenance contract, Auckland One Rail (AOR), Auckland Transport (AT), Auckland Transport Technology (ATT), and the Link Alliance. This role ensures that maintenance, operational, safety, commercial, and customer requirements are effectively incorporated throughout the design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases of the City Rail Link project.

 

The role is focused on achieving positive Whole of Life outcomes through:

  • Zero harm principles and safe asset operation.
  • Improved commercial outcomes through risk mitigation and cost optimisation.
  • Integration of customer and operational requirements into project delivery.
  • Enhancement of asset maintainability, reliability, and operational performance.

 

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Working collaboratively with CRL stakeholders to secure optimal outcomes for spare parts, maintenance services, and long-term support arrangements, improving the commercial position of the contract.
  • Providing maintenance and operational input into to ensure Whole of Life objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinating the identification, assessment, and management of maintenance impacts arising from asset handover through operations.
  • Development, review, and management of spare parts strategies and associated procurement requirements.
  • Management of defects as art of the PAA Governance.
  • Development and coordination of Hypercare and transition-to-service plans.
  • Management of Systems Delivery Packages (SDPs) and delivery of associated scopes of work.
  • Identification and development of alternative SDP opportunities to support contract performance and value outcomes.
  • Identification, assessment, and management of maintenance-related risks and opportunities.
  • Development and maintenance of AMAS contract reporting, scheduling, performance monitoring, and Power BI dashboards.
  • Supporting operational readiness, asset handover, and maintenance integration activities to ensure a successful transition from construction into long-term operations and maintenance.
  • Act as delegate for the Maintenance Manager when required, ensuring continuity of leadership, stakeholder management, and contract delivery

 

 

In addition to the AMAS project functional responsibilities, the Interface Manager's role extends into procurement and commercial activities where required, supporting best practice and delivering enhanced value outcomes across the Downer Asset Management and Facilities business.

  • Required to hold tertiary engineering qualification in a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of procurement and planning best practice in infrastructure or facilities management sectors.

  • High level of demonstrated consultative skill. 

  • Can build effective relationships with all levels of the company and with appropriate client base. 

  • Ability to influence.

  • Ability to train mentor and coach others.
